Trust me, they're a lot of fun. Here's mine.
And, from a little later..
I still need to bring her to Kansas, to go next to the Amazon wagon, the 740 and my Mazda3.

Looks super clean. I'd just be a little bit worried about reliability.

I had dreams of owning one in high school. There was a purple one for sale in my town that I BEGGED my mom to buy. I went a couple of extra miles out of the way every day to see it before it was finally sold. It was like the one below but with good paint, a white top, and a little wiring change so the hazards would turn off all the running lights. I always wondered who did that part and why....

You always have to worry about reliability with an old foreign car. But I think it would be lots of fun for cruising around town. Now if it were just fast.

It would be lots of fun though, even if it wasn't fast. It would just be awesome to cruise around town with the top down. I'd love a classic car, but my wallet won't allow it.

My wife won't allow it! :) Just kidding. I think she wouldn't mind if we had a good place to work on it. I'm trying to convince her to buy in on a house with 12 acres and an air-conditioned shop !

Haha, I'd love a giant house. I'd live in a giant garage as long as it had a bathroom, bed and a fridge. The one time I'm single, I can't afford a project car.

A friend of mine once told me his plan to avoid divorce. Build a big shop with a small apartment in it. The wife gets to stay in the house and keep it however she likes (pink bedroom, lacy curtains, etc.). He spends his days in the shop/apartment and can keep it however he wants. The most important rule is to always clean up before heading to the house. If they fight, they can retreat to their respective domains to cool down (even if it takes a few days).
I think this will work out for him since he's a diesel mechanic with a dirt business on the side. A shop is required for him to make a living.
I wonder if it is too late to change careers....

Ack. You are right. One day I will buy one. Have to get some garage space first.
